Public installation designed to make air pollution visible and emotionally immediate. The lungs were fabricated through folded stainless-steel sheets cut by waterjet, wrapped in cotton, and activated by internal fans that continuously absorbed surrounding air. Over time, the cotton darkened due to smog accumulation, physically embodying the impact of pollution. Real-time air quality data from Chile’s Ministry of the Environment informed the installation, linking environmental metrics to a tangible transformation. Installed in the commune of Renca, the piece engaged passersby, turning a daily urban condition into a visible and contemplative experience.
