Contención

Contención arises from the tension between permanence and dissolution. The work begins with a sculpture enclosed in a volume of water, contained in a precise, stable and silent space. Yet that apparent stillness is fragile: the spectator's minimal gesture, touching the water, is enough for the form to begin losing its consistency and slowly transform into another matter. The installation is composed of a cubic glass tank filled with water, a sculpture submerged inside it, and a capacitive touch activation system that detects the contact and triggers the playback of a digital animation, articulating sculpture, water, electronics and video as a single sensitive body.
